Interim E-commerce Specialist / Lead (Maternity Cover)
Period: Mid-August until the end of February – Hours to be discussed
"Why can’t everyday parenting essentials be both practical and stylish?" This was the question on Marie-Claire van der Steen's mind in 2018 while searching for a diaper bag. She decided to redesign this parenting staple herself, which led to the creation of Studio Noos—named after her son and ultimate source of inspiration, Noah, aka Noos.
Today, Studio Noos is about much more than just combining functionality and style. With a timeless collection of Mom Bags, changing mats, pouches, backpacks, and other matching essentials, Studio Noos inspires parents and children to make the most of every day, go on adventures together, and create memories for a lifetime.
The Role
For the period from mid-August until the end of February, we are looking for an experienced Interim E-commerce Lead to take over the daily, commercial, and operational leadership of our webshop during the maternity leave of our current Lead.
In this role, you will be the operational backbone of our e-commerce team. You will work closely with our Head of E-commerce to translate commercial objectives into a tight, achievable roadmap. You will be responsible for weekly trading results and will monitor the performance of our international markets (Market Ownership).
We are looking for a Lead who sees the bigger picture but also has the energy to actively build along with us. Because our e-commerce team is fully in development, the focus over the coming months will be on a strong combination of providing direction and offering operational support. You will coach and guide our Content Specialist on-the-job and step in during busy periods or major launches. Additionally, you will take charge of the functional and technical development of the platform. You will conceptualize new features, translate commercial requirements into concrete briefings, and tightly manage our external development partner. A versatile and high-impact role with plenty of exciting challenges.
What will you do?
Platform Development & Agency Management
- Managing tech partners: You are the direct link to our external Shopify development agency. You prioritize the tech backlog, monitor sprint planning, and ensure that tickets are clearly briefed.
- Webshop development: You proactively identify opportunities for site optimization and new features (such as app integrations, checkout improvements, or on-site personalization) and map them out functionally.
- Site Health & QA: You monitor site performance (loading speed, bugs, checkout flow). If an ad-hoc issue arises, you align directly with developers and thoroughly test the fixes yourself before they go live.
Trading, Roadmaps & Optimization
- Translate commercial e-commerce plans and marketing campaigns into concrete, achievable monthly and quarterly planning (roadmaps).
- Trading & Market Ownership: Monitor sales results per country/market. You immediately identify local opportunities or bottlenecks and translate webshop data (GA4) into actionable commercial steps on a weekly basis.
Team Management & Hands-on Execution
- Daily guidance, prioritization, and support for the internal e-commerce team. You help bring structure and direction to day-to-day activities.
- Active operational support: Where needed, or when the workload around major launches peaks, you dive into Shopify yourself to help out. Whether it involves double-checking product uploads, setting up marketplaces, or launching a campaign.
Cross-functional Alignment
- Ensure smooth daily alignment with Paid Advertising, Brand, CRM, Customer Service, and Operations so that commercial actions are seamlessly integrated across all touchpoints.
Who are you?
- You have at least 4+ years of experience in an E-commerce Lead, Manager, or Senior Trading role on the brand side (preferably in fashion or lifestyle).
- You have experience with the functional management of tech agencies/developers, prioritizing features, and writing clear briefings.
- You possess the perfect 'hands-on lead' mindset: you oversee the planning and the data, but you are more than willing to dive into the systems yourself and take on operational tasks.
- Extensive and independent experience working in and managing a Shopify environment is a strict requirement.
- You are available from mid-August, analytically strong, work in a structured manner, and shift effortlessly between tech and brand.
What do we offer?
- A challenging, highly versatile key position on an interim basis (Freelance/ZZP or temporary contract) at one of the fastest-growing lifestyle brands of the moment.
- A warm, creative, and ambitious team at our office in Amsterdam.
- A clear foundational structure with plenty of autonomy and ownership to keep the shop running smoothly and growing.
